Iron Man 3
Finally watched Iron Man 3 with my brothers last night. I love Iron Man, I love Tony Stark, I love Robert Downey Jr. :) I love this whole movie, I mean from the gadgets, cars and the story itself.
I was excited to see Iron Man 3 because I am expecting to see more of the advanced gadgets and cars... but Iron Man 3 gave me more lessons that far important to what I expected. Okey, let's start.
1. Material things do not last. Matthew 6:19 "Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.
- When the mandarin attacked his home, I was like, oh noh, the house, the cars and everything on it. But then, that scene, hit me. That no matter how rich or powerful you are, you are still vulnerable. You can lose everything that you've worked for many years in just a snap, even your own life.
- What matters the most is the people around you. Your relationship with people. Tony never thought of saving his house, one thing He is so much concern is how He could protect His girlfriend and the people. And mostly our relationship with God. Treasures in heaven are the ones will last forever. :)
Matthew 6:20-23 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
2. Be humble. Proverbs 16:18-19 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.
- I never realize how proud Tony Stark is, until I see this movie. He was so so so proud and proud. But you will definitely see his transformation, I did. The movie will teach you that you cannot do it by yourself, you need help, you need others and so Tony Stark. When he has nothing left but the MK42 that needs repair, he met Harley, the troubled boy living with his mother. Yes, a boy helped Tony. :) I like the scene when Harley encourage and remind him who he is Tony when he is experiencing an anxiety attack.
We need others. I thank God that I am surrounded by the people who loved me dearly.
3. Unconditional Love. 1 Corinthians 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
- Pepper, Pepper, Stark's girlfriend, longtime associate, and CEO of Stark Industries. From the first installment of Iron Man to Iron Man 3, this girl shows how she adores Tony, how she loves Tony. I mean, though it seems Tony neglected her and no time for her still, Pepper submits to Tony and most of all love Tony unconditionally. When she declined Aldrich offer because she knows that Tony wouldn't agree with it. unconditional love, when she saves Tony in the end.
- And from that I was reminded of how much Jesus loves me and you unconditionally that in the end He chosee to saved us. Romans 5:8 But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
4. The real sourc life. Mark 8:36 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
- I like how they end this movie, because it is Christmas day, they had a fireworks display and it is no ordinary fireworks, they are all Iron man suits and Tony had a surgery. He no longer depend on the ARC reactor and electromagnet chest piece. And the last scene, I was like oh no this might be the last as Tony throws his magnetic piece in the sea. What lesson we could learn from this, we may lose everything in this life, but there is one thing that the world could never take away from us - "it is who we are", our character, who are we in Christ. At the end of the day, it is not how famous, rich or powerful you are, but how you live the life that God gave you.
Tony Spark left with no suits but that never change the fact that he is "IRON MAN".
